U.S. index futures climbed on Monday after the recent market rout, as investors girded up for a busy week marked by a Federal Reserve interest-rate decision, eagerly awaited tech earnings and crucial labor data.

Pre-Market Movers

Crypto stocks - Bitcoin touched the highest level since mid-June after Donald Trump expanded his pro-crypto agenda and as expectations for US Federal Reserve interest-rate cuts bolstered investor sentiment.

Crypto stocks gained in premarket trading Monday. Bitcoin Depot rose 7%; CleanSpark rose 5%; MicroStrategy, Marathon Digital, Coinbase, Bitfarms, and Riot Platforms rose 4%.

Tesla - Morgan Stanley listed Tesla as a top pick. Analyst Adam Jonas maintained an overweight rating on Tesla stock with a $310 price target. The shares gained 1.8% in premarket trading.

Palantir - Jefferies raised Palantir's price target on Palantir to $28 from $24 and kept a Hold rating. Palantir shares gained 1.7% in premarket trading.

Alibaba - Alibaba shares rose 3% in premarket trading Monday as investors cheered the e-commerce company ’ s plan to earn more service fees from merchants.

Royal Philips NV - Philips reported second-quarter results that beat analysts' expectations on Monday, boosted by higher earnings, the implementation of its restructuring program and insurance income linked to its Respironics product liability claims. The shares gained 10% in premarket trading.

Abbott Laboratories - Abbott Laboratories dropped 5.5% in premarket trading Monday after a jury in St. Louis awarded a plaintiff $495 million in compensatory and punite damages over claims the company's baby formula caused a potentially deadly bowel disease.

McDonald's - McDonald ’ s Corp. sales declined for the first time since 2020 in the second quarter, falling short of analyst expectations for modest growth. The shares waved in premarket trading.

Stellantis NV - The automaker retreated by 3.3% following a Deutsche Bank downgrade to hold from buy. Deutsche Bank said the Chrysler and Dodge maker ’ s guidance could be at risk as it faces multiple challenges in a tough environment.

Guardant Health - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Monday approved Guardant Health's blood test to detect a cancer that starts in the colon or rectum. U.S.-listed shares of the company rose 15.2% in premarket trading.

Longeveron - Longeveron has revealed that the Phase IIa CLEAR MIND clinical trial of Lomecel-B for treating mild Alzheimer ’ s disease met its primary safety and secondary efficacy endpoints. The shares jumped 14.8% in premarket trading.

Rivian - Germany's Volkswagen and U.S electric car maker Rivian Automotive may form a joint venture, the German competition authority said on Monday. Rivian shares gained 1.1% in premarket trading.

Cognition Therapeutics - Cognition Therapeutics received positive results in a Phase 2 study for it CT1812 treatment for patients suffering from mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease. The shares jumped 17.3% in premarket trading.

Former President Donald Trump pitched his plan to make the United States the "crypto capital of the planet and the Bitcoin superpower of the world," pledging to establish the nation's first strategic Bitcoin stockpile, if elected.

Trump is the first presidential candidate from a major political party to make Bitcoin and cryptocurrency a campaign issue, and the first American president to speak at a Bitcoin event, addressing an enthusiastic standing-room-only crowd at the Bitcoin 2024 conference at the Music City Center in Nashville, two weeks after surviving an assassination attempt.

"If crypto is going to define the future, I want it to be mined, minted, and made in the USA," Trump said. "If Bitcoin is going to the moon, as they say, ‘ it ’ s going to the moon, ’ I want America to be the nation that leads the way."

Apple's AI Features Rollout Will Miss Upcoming iPhone Software Overhaul

Apple Inc. ’ s upcoming artificial intelligence features will arrive later than anticipated, missing the initial launch of its upcoming iPhone and iPad software overhauls but giving the company more time to fix bugs.

The company is planning to begin rolling out Apple Intelligence to customers as part of software updates coming by October, according to people with knowledge of the matter. That means the AI features will arrive a few weeks after the initial iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 releases planned for September, said the people, who declined to be identified discussing unannounced release details.

Still, the iPhone maker is planning to make Apple Intelligence available to software developers for the first time for early testing as soon as this week via iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 betas, they added. The strategy is atypical as the company doesn ’ t usually release previews of follow-up updates until around the time the initial version of the new software generation is released publicly.
