The two-day 2026 World Dairy Industry Conference officially commenced on August 1 in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. Hosted by Yili Group, the Conference centered around the theme of Technology-driven, Partnership Oriented, Co-building a Sustainable Global Dairy Ecosystem, featuring a series of core events including the opening ceremony, industrial tours, and parallel sessions. Leaders from international industry associations, distinguished academicians, and top executives from across the global dairy value chain attended the event.

At the opening ceremony, the International Union of Food Science and Technology ( IUFoST ) officially presented Hohhot with the World Dairy Capital plaque and a commemorative award. He Haidong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hohhot Municipal Committee and Mayor of Hohhot, alongside Pan Gang, Chairman and President of Yili Group, took the stage to accept the honor. As the sole representative of the global dairy sector, Pan Gang accepted this prestigious honor on the world stage. This milestone is not just a crowning achievement for Hohhot, but a testament to the powerful synergy between the local government and leading enterprises, which together have built a thriving dairy ecosystem.

In 2023, at the inaugural World Dairy Conference, IUFOST proudly named Hohhot the "World Capital of Dairy Science and Technology." We conferred this honor to champion global innovation, foster international collaboration, and recognize the city's unparalleled strengths in industry development, scientific infrastructure, and future potential.
